The GodFather

The GodFather will lend a helping hand to those who have a large and messy collection of audio files. You see, The GodFather is a tool that can do a lot: batch rename files, edit the tags for the songs in your collection, encode and decode audio files, find and delete duplicates, play files with your default media player, and more. To get The GodFather up and running on your Windows-powered PC, you will have to go through the following steps: download an archive, extract and run the executable inside the archive, follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard. When the setup wizard is done installing The GodFather on your PC, it will ask to launch the application.

There are two view modes for the application’s interface: Main and Library. You can switch between the two from the View menu in the upper left hand corner. Or better yet, you can switch by using a hotkey: Ctrl + F1 for Main view, Ctrl + F2 for Library view. Getting back to the aforementioned View menu, it must be said that you can pick and choose what elements are displayed on the interface: Folder Tree, Edit Panel, Quick Search, Tag Filters, Properties, Totals.

Overall, it is a fairly easy to use interface. From this interface you can access the following bits of functionality: view audio files within a folder; view the data associated with each audio file; select a file and play it with your default media player; copy, move, delete audio files; rename audio files and edit the information attached to audio files; presets and encoding presets; find and remove duplicates; open playlists; and more.
